Public service, public safety, and the public good have been central to Gamal’s first term as Mayor (2021-2025). Looking forward, Gamal would like to continue to help our wonderful borough thrive. He  supports public stewardship of climate planning and emergency services. With his monthly Mayor’s Update newsletter, Gamal has worked to engage neighbors and promote Rutledge history. Gamal has spent more than 20 years working in K-12 education and has lived in Rutledge with his family since 2006. An enthusiastic gardener, he and his wife Eils have enjoyed turning their yard into a National Wildlife Federation-certified wildlife habitat.
